Nearly 300 supporters took part, collectively covering more than 43,000 km while boosting their wellbeing and connecting through a shared mission.
The charity:
Sport in Mind is the UK’s leading mental-health sports charity, providing free, inclusive physical-activity sessions that help people experiencing mental health challenges improve their wellbeing, build confidence, and feel part of a supportive community.
The charity wanted to bring supporters together around movement, wellbeing and fundraising – in a way that anyone, anywhere, could join.
Partnering with Race At Your Pace meant Sport in Mind could deliver a challenge that was simple to take part in, highly motivating, and naturally community-building.
100km in 10 days
The challenge invited supporters to take on 100km in 10 days – a goal that felt ambitious, exciting, and achievable. Participants could go solo or join a team, making the experience as personal or as social as they wanted.
To keep everyone motivated and connected, Race At Your Pace built in a range of engagement features, including:

A fully virtual format, so anyone could take part no matter where they were
-
Live leaderboards for both individuals and teams, adding competition and community spirit
-
Flexible activity options, letting participants walk, run, cycle, swim or mix activities
-

A quote from the organiser

“It went far beyond participant numbers or funds raised – it created a real sense of community, connection and shared purpose.
The challenge offered accessibility, flexibility and an inclusive way for people to get involved, no matter where they were based or what their fitness level was. Although participants were physically apart, the use of leaderboards, shared milestones and storytelling brought everyone together and kept them engaged with our mission throughout.
This digital community was invaluable. It helped deepen supporter loyalty, build momentum and create meaningful engagement that continued beyond the challenge itself.”
